GOD Wants You Well

“If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy GOD, and wilt do that which is right in HIS sight, and wilt give ear to HIS commandments, and keep all HIS statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that health thee.”(Exodus 15:26)

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Has the devil ever tried to put you under condemnation by telling you that it’s contrary to the principles of faith to use doctors and medicine when you need healing? If so, here are some encouraging words that I believe will help you put your heart at rest.

It is GOD’s will to heal you. That’s the first and most important thing for you to understand. If your faith is strong and you can believe the WORD without wavering (regardless of what circumstances or symptoms come against you), then you’ll be able to receive GOD’s healing by faith alone.

But that kind of faith takes more than just hearing a few sermons about healing. It takes a deep personal revelation of GOD’s healing power. So, if you haven’t yet developed that kind of faith, the doctor is your next best.

If you’re not certain whether your faith is strong enough or whether you need a doctor’s help, follow the instructions of the Apostle Paul (Col. 3: 15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.) and let peace be your umpire.

If fear rises up within you when you think about doing without medical help, then go to a doctor. And go in faith! On the other hand, if you have a sure confidence within you that healing is yours strictly by faith, let your faith do its work and receive your healing directly from our LORD. Whether or not you go to the doctor is not the issue. It is what you do with your faith.

Either way, you can rejoice knowing GOD is working with you, meeting you at the level of your faith. Thank GOD for your healing–however it comes!–and do not let Satan put you under condemnation. It is none of his business!

Scripture Study:

Deuteronomy 7: 8 But it was because the LORD loved you and kept the oath HE swore to your ancestors that HE brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt. 9 Know therefore that the LORD your GOD is GOD; HE is the faithful GOD, keeping HIS covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love HIM and keep HIS commandments.

10 But those who hate HIM HE will repay to their face by destruction;

HE will not be slow to repay to their face those who hate HIM.

11 Therefore, take care to follow the commands, decrees and laws I give you today.

12 If you pay attention to these laws and are careful to follow them, then the LORD your GOD will keep HIS covenant of love with you, as HE swore to your ancestors. 13 HE will love you and bless you and increase your numbers. HE will bless the fruit of your womb, the crops of your land—your grain, new wine and olive oil—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks in the land HE swore to your ancestors to give you. 14 You will be blessed more than any other people; none of your men or women will be childless, nor will any of your livestock be without young. 15 The LORD will keep you free from every disease. HE will not inflict on you the horrible diseases you knew in Egypt, but HE will inflict them on all who hate you.

We give thanks to GOD, the FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, for this day and for you, faithful brothers and sisters.

7:9 所以你要知道耶和华你的 神,祂是 神、是信实的 神,向爱祂守祂诫命的人守约施慈爱,直到千代;

Repent Or Perish

Repent

Repent Or Perish

One of the hardest things for men and women to do is to repent of their sins. Repentance is a direct challenge to man’s will power. It demands that he humble himself before GOD, and give up everything that is contrary to HIS will. The holy demands of repentance have kept many of the high minded out of the kingdom of GOD.

Repentance is a duty imposed upon all mankind. It is a plain command of GOD, and no man can refuse to repent without bearing the responsibility (consequence) that must come upon him. When JESUS gave the world-wide commission, HE said, “That repentance and remission of sins should be preached in HIS name among all nations . . .” (Luke 24:47). Paul said that, “GOD now command all men everywhere to repent” (Acts 17:30). JESUS said “I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish” (Luke 13:3). Can anyone read these scriptures and conclude that he can be saved without repentance? Surely not!

Let us clear away some of the misunderstanding about repentance by learning what it is NOT. In the first place, repentance is not simply being afraid. Paul convicted Felix of his sins, Felix trembled with fear but he did not repent and turn (Acts 24:25 As Paul talked about righteousness, self-control and the judgment to come, Felix was afraid and said, “That’s enough for now! You may leave. When I find it convenient, I will send for you.”). There are many people today who are afraid when they think of their sinfulness, but they, like Felix, refuse to repent, and die without hope.

In the second place, repentance is not simply being sorry that one has sinned. The murderers of JESUS sorrowed on Pentecost at Peter’s preaching. They were pierced in their hearts by godly sorrow. Yet they were told to repent (Acts 2:38Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of JESUS CHRIST for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the HOLY SPIRIT.). Their sorrow was godly because it was produced by their faith in gospel preaching; but it was not repentance.

In the third place, repentance is not simply and solely a reformation of life, A man may quit sin and yet not repent toward GOD. He may quit because that particular sin renders him unpopular in his business or among his associates. Thus, he may reform his life for selfish reasons, but such reformation is not repentance. Simply stated, repentance is a change of mind, or will, based upon godly sorrow (II Corinthians 7:10 Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.), and resulting in a manner of life directed by CHRIST (Acts 26:20 . . . . . I preached that they should repent and turn to GOD and demonstrate their repentance by their deeds.).

Our LORD gave us an example of repentance which we can all understand, HE said, “A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work today in my vineyard, He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went” (Matthew 21: 28 “What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work today in the vineyard.’ 29 “‘I will not,’ he answered, but later he changed his mind and went. 30 “Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, ‘I will, sir,’ but he did not go. 31 “Which of the two did what his father wanted?” “The first,” they answered. JESUS said to them, “Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of GOD ahead of you. 32 For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him). This boy began to reflect on what he had done, and he realized that he had disobeyed his father, He became conscious of the fact that he sinned against his father, who was responsible for his very existence, and when he came to himself, he acknowledge that wrong, and then corrected it. He changed his mind (repented) and did that which he said he would not do. JESUS said that was repentance.

CHRIST said to the Pharisees that, “The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgement with this generation, and shall condemn it; because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here” (Matthew 12:41). JESUS here says that the men of Nineveh repented at the preaching of Jonas. The Bible says: “GOD saw their works, that they turned from their evil way” (Jonah 3:10When GOD saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, HE relented and did not bring on them the destruction HE had threatened.). The preaching of the prophet of GOD changed the mind of the Ninevites, and this change led them to turn from their evil way. This change of mind was repentance.

The LORD has given men two motives as the means of bringing them to repentance.

The first motive is fear. The Bible writers say, “We must all appear before the judgement seat of CHRIST; that everyone may receive the things done in his body, according to that he has done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the LORD, we persuade men” (II Corinthians 5:10-11). This statement, and all the warnings in the Bible are intended to move us to repent of our sins.

The second motive GOD uses to bring about repentance is love. The Bible says,  in Romans 2:4 Or do you show contempt for the riches of HIS kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that GOD’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?). The goodness of GOD is revealed in the life and death of HIS only SON, JESUS CHRIST. As we study the life of our LORD, and see the beauty of holiness manifested through HIS earthly pilgrimage, then follow HIM to Calvary and watch HIM suffer there, dying for our sins, making it possible for poor sinners to be saved, and to become children of GOD, we ask why all this flow of love, why all this display of goodness? What wondrous love, 0 my soul! And the answer comes back in the Bible, “The kindness of GOD is intended to lead you to repentance.”  And Christ said in Luke 13: 3“I tell you no, unless you repent, you shall all likewise perish”.

Dear Brothers and Sisters, it is bad to sin, but it is worse to sin and not repent.

We give thanks to GOD, the FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, for this day and for you, faithful brothers and sisters.

conscience

Can You Trust Your Conscience?

the-holy-bibleCan You Trust Your Conscience?

1 Timothy 1: The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. Some have departed from these and have turned to meaningless talk. They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm.

Let your conscience be your guide. This bit of folk wisdom seems to make sense since our conscience is designed to help us discern right from wrong. However, people cannot always trust their internal radar to steer them correctly; this is the case particularly with unbelievers, who don’t have the HOLY SPIRIT to reveal truth and offer guidance for wise decisions. And while Christians do have GOD’s indwelling SPIRIT, they should be careful not to harbour sin in their lives, as that can interfere with the way their morality sensor functions.

A trustworthy conscience is programmed with scriptural teaching. Believers build a stable and sensitive spiritual radar system by applying GOD’s truth to their lives. They are committed to thinking and acting in ways that honour and please the LORD. Then, when sinful thoughts or choices come across that radar, it will deliver a sharp warning.

A person with a reliable conscience will have a strong desire to obey GOD. He won’t settle for what feels right or looks good, but instead prayerfully seeks the LORD’s will. In other words, he does not rely solely on his conscience but incorporates all of the HOLY SPIRIT’s tools into his daily life: Scripture, prayer, etc. Moreover, when his spiritual radar sounds the alarm, he is quick to draw back and reject unwise choices.

A conscience isn’t designed to be our guide; it is a tool of the GUIDE (the HOLY SPIRIT). The HOLY SPIRIT not only convicts us of sin, but HE also brings to mind godly principles and leads us on a righteous path. HE uses a variety of tools to conform us to the likeness of CHRIST (Rom. 8: 29 For those GOD foreknew HE also predestined to be conformed to the image of HIS SON, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.)

We give thanks to GOD, the FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, for this day and for you, faithful brothers and sisters.

The Role of Our Conscience

711130-112808_86953_homer_simpson_super_large

The Role of Our Conscience

1 Timothy 1:18 Timothy, my son, I am giving you this command in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by recalling them you may fight the battle well, 19 holding on to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck with regard to the faith. 20 Among them are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan to be taught not to blaspheme.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

GOD gave every person a conscience, which is like a radar system meant to send warnings when a behavior or decision might be harmful. This makes it possible for people to distinguish between what is morally right and morally wrong, especially as it applies to their own lives. We ignore the conscience at our own peril.

In a believer, the conscience is a tool of the HOLY SPIRIT. HE programs it with principles from GOD’s WORD and sharpens it to respond quickly. Even so, our radar’s sole purpose is to send a signal; what happens next is up to us. Either we ignore the warning, or we stop to hear what the SPIRIT has to say about the situation. The HOLY SPIRIT reveals GOD’s will or reminds us of HIS principles so we can make a wise decision about the warning bell ringing in our conscience.

Paul’s letter to Timothy mentions people who had rejected GOD’s leadership and guidance in their lives—they’d paid no attention to the alarm of their conscience (1 Tim. 1: 19 holding on to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck with regard to the faith.). The result was shipwrecked faith. When something appears on radar that speaks of disobedience to GOD, we have to reject that action. Otherwise, the detection device becomes impaired and won’t work right. If we keep ignoring the alarms, it will eventually go completely silent.

We all know people who’ve “run aground” in life. A shipwrecked faith is inevitable when believers ignore their conscience and rationalize or defend disobedience. It’s far better to turn yourself over to the great captain of your soul, JESUS CHRIST. HIS HOLY SPIRIT will guide you correctly.

We give thanks to GOD, the FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, for this day and for you, faithful brothers and sisters.

2:10 智慧必入你心,你的灵要以知识为美;
